OK, so it's not really a REAL photo shoot but it did involve my personal models and a camera lol. So I finally received all of my makeup that I ordered for my kit and what better to start, then to break it all in with my girls. :) With that being said, Friday after work my friends and I got together and I did their makeup. For my kit I decided to purchase the Graftobian foundation palettes. These palettes have 18 different foundations each and have a variety of shades. I'll do a post on the palettes later.
So I started out first with my friend Miha and she has the most AMAZING eyes, so that's what I wanted to focus on. I did a neutral smokey eye using light purple and brown with a bit of black in the outer-v corner. In order to make her eyes pop, I took the black liner and winged it out on the outer part of the eyes and then brought it out a bit on the inner corner as well. Miha's skin color was very easy to match when it came to foundation, but I need to work on making sure to bring the color down to the neck line, because the last thing you want is your neck and face being two different colors!!
My friend Carmen proved to be a bit more difficult for me. She wanted darker shades for her eyes and wanted some green. But for me, the darker I went the smaller her eyes seemed to look. So I lighted with a lighter shade of green and brown, and decided to add some black as well. This worked out very well because her brown eyes just popped out!! Now I will admit using the new foundation palette is not as easy as it seems. I found it a bit difficult to match her skin tone, at first I seemed to make her to light and then a bit too dark! But all in all the final look came out pretty good.
Its pretty obvious that I need to practice more on matching foundation shades to skin tones. But hey, I wasn't born knowing everything so I need to find myself more models to practice on! Anyone want a free makeover?!? lol
So these are some of the pictures and thanks girls for being such excellent models!!!!
